Confession Prayer Week of August 31, 2025
Call to Confession:
As we enter into a time of confession together, a way we regularly take seriously our sin and lay it before God, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Romans 1:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Prayer of Confession:
Heavenly Father, in the gospels, you have given us the rich treasure of forgiveness and life. Yet, how often do we devalue it with our words and actions? Forgive us.
Jesus, teach us to walk in light of what you did for us. Holy Spirit, remind us of the truth of who you are. Remind us that it always comes back to you, our Good Shepherd. You came that we might have life and have it abundantly, help us to live in to that. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk. So hear these words from John 10 and rest in their truth for us:
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
