Confession Prayer Week of October 26, 2025

Call to Confession: 

As we enter into a time of confession together, a way we regularly take seriously our sin and lay it before God, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Jude:

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

Prayer of Confession: 

Almighty God, you are holy and powerful, and we marvel that you take notice of us. How often we rebel against you, yet you set your love on us and rescued us from sin and death. Forgive us for believing that we are in charge of our own faith. Thank you for choosing to pursue us and for giving us faith to believe in your Son.

Holy Spirit, remind us daily that your mercy is not purchased by our faithfulness, but has been bought for us by Jesus. Strengthen our faith according to your holy will, and help our minds rest in the good news of our oneness with Christ. In his strong name and for his glory we ask these things, Amen.

Assurance of Pardon: 

In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk.  So hear these words from Hebrews 12 and rest in their truth for us…

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
