Confession Prayer Week of December 1, 2024

Call to Confession: 

As we enter into a time of confession together, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Isaiah 1:

Wash yourselves and make yourselves clean.

    Stop doing the evil things I see you do.

Stop doing wrong!

    Learn to do good.

Be fair to other people.

Prayer of Confession: 

Holy God,

We are people who cannot wash ourselves or make ourselves clean. Even as your children, we make bad choices and we often resist what you have said is good. Father, forgive us.

Jesus, we praise you that you have washed us clean by your blood. Holy Spirit, help our hearts turn toward your goodness, so that kindness and mercy can flow from us to others in our lives. Thank you for loving us always. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon: 

In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk. So hear these words from Isaiah 1 and rest in their truth for us…

The Lord says,

    “Come, we will talk these things over.

Your sins are red like deep red cloth.

    But they can be as white as snow.

Your sins are bright red.

    But you can be white like wool.
