Confession Prayer Week of June 8, 2025
Call to Confession:
As we enter into a time of confession together, a way we regularly take seriously our sin and lay it before God, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Colossians 3:
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Prayer of Confession:
Almighty God,
We have gathered today to worship you, but as we speak words of worship and sing songs of praise, we are reminded of how distant we may have been from you this week. Our worship of you has not been consistent or wholehearted. Lord, forgive us.
Help us to set our minds on the things above, on the things you have called us to do and the people you have called us to love. Capture us with your good news, that our worship might flow from transformed hearts. Thank you for loving us and continuing to grow us toward you. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk. So hear these words from Isaiah 12, and rest in its truth for us today:
“Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
