Confession Prayer Week of June 29, 2025

Jun 29, 2025

Call to Confession:

As we enter into a time of confession together, a way we regularly take seriously our sin and lay it before God, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Romans 12:

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Prayer of Confession:

Heavenly Father,

These words that you’ve given us can be challenging. You’ve asked us to live in harmony with one another, but how often do we strive to be right instead of trying to make peace? Lord, forgive us.

Thank you for the mercy and grace you extend to us even while we still act in ways apart from you. Holy Spirit, teach our hearts this gift of mercy, that we might know it better and then extend it well to others. Thank you for Jesus, and the unending kindness of his grace. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon:

In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk.  So hear the continuation of these words from Ephesians 2 and rest in their truth for us:

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
