Confession Prayer Week of March 23, 2025

Mar 23, 2025

Call to Confession:

As we enter into a time of confession together, let’s prepare our hearts by hearing these words from Proverbs 13:

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,

but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Prayer of Confession:

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for becoming human like us so we could know that you understand what it feels like to live in a fallen world. You know what it is to have a heart sick with sorrow, a soul consumed with agony, and a body that is ill and unable to function.

You could have chosen to stay in heaven, untouched by brokenness, but for the sake of loving us, you entered into this chaos. Forgive us for the ways we sin as we try to deal with this brokenness on our own.

Remind us of your suffering and your love often, that we might be reminded that you patiently walk with us as we experience these things. Encourage us with glimpses of joy that we might walk faithfully through the hard days before us. In your strong name we pray, Amen.

Assurance of Pardon:

In the scriptures we find assurances of our forgiveness and encouragement in our walk. So hear these words from Romans 8 and rest in their truth for us:

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
